In December of 2013, Hamilton County OneWorkSource funded training for an Indian Lake resident to become a Dental Assistant.  This educational opportunity was through Adirondack Dental Assisting School in Ballston Spa, NY.  The training was a 2 month course, consisting of 80 hours classroom time.  This course ended in receiving a dental assistant certification.  The young lady who took the course moved on to a career in the health network while vigorously searching for a job as a dental assistant.  Recently, she accepted a job as a dental assistant at Adirondack Oral!

The Hamilton County OneWorkSource can fund trainings for residents to further their education.  These trainings must advance their skills in a “High demand” field and result in job placement.  Supportive services, such as gas cards for transportation to and from training are also available through our training opportunities.  Some income requirements do apply.  For more information or questions about furthering your education please contact Laura Spengler or Dana Ordway, the OneWorkSource caseworkers at (518)648-6131. www.oneworksource.com
